As a fitness coach and athlete myself, I know the ups and downs of the fitness journey intimately. When I began incorporating hybrid training into my regime, I was eager and filled with a burst of energy, but soon found myself bewildered amidst a labyrinth of performance metrics, training methodologies, and fitness trackers.
Working closely with a number of HYROX athletes, I was conducting VO2Max and lactate tests, along with providing them nutritional guidance. The patterns I noticed were all too familiar. The training information provided to these athletes, while well-intentioned, was often misguided and lacked a foundation in scientific understanding. Coaches without a solid grasp of the underlying physiology were doling out advice that was, at best, ineffective and, at worst, potentially harmful. The result was a haphazard approach to training, with athletes wandering aimlessly without clear purpose or direction.
I could see the struggle mirrored in my own journey – the arduous task of making sense of the sprawling data, the uncertainty about whether we were truly progressing or just maintaining a holding pattern.
This sense of disarray and stagnation sparked the need for a solution - a consolidated, easy-to-understand tool that could accurately track progress, analyse performance, and provide clear, personalised insights. A tool to eradicate the guesswork and bring focus and precision into the journey towards fitness goals.
In the absence of such a tool, I took the initiative to create one - and thus, the Hybrid Performance Dashboard was born.
